The top story right now is the “Favre Saga.” Favre announced yesterday that he was going to stay retired. If you believe that, I have some swampland in Mpls to sell you. Favre has pulled this same deal before, anything to get out of training camp. The rumor I heard was that the Vikings and Favre have an agreement on a contract and the Vikings were the ones to hold off on the actual signing. Why did they want to wait? Will it sell more tickets? If it truly was the Vikings that held off on the deal, it was probably because there is no way they could agree to take Favre on and then let him just skip training camp. The only way they could legitimately give him special treatment would be to officially sign him up AFTER training camp was over.
